Yoga Classes

Complete your asana practice through our wide selection of yang and yin yoga classes in our heated and unheated studio rooms, as we provide you with the support you need to create balance on your mat and outside of the studio. Improve your fitness and movement, develop muscular strength and increase flexibility in our yang yoga formats including PowerFlow I, PowerFlow II, Sculpt, and many more. Meanwhile, our yin styles of yoga center around the bodies deeper tissues and postures that increase flexibility, mindfulness, and softness of the tendons and joints. Members will need to bring their own yoga mat and water to all classes. We also recommend that students bring a terry cloth yoga towel or beach towel to our heated classes to prevent slippage. We do not offer rental yoga mats or towels at our studio; however, we sell yoga mats at various price points.

BEGINNER YOGA

Whether your brand new to yoga or looking to regain a lost practice, this class is for you! Set in our unheated studio, you will learn the fundamentals of yoga, including the background of yoga, proper breathing, postural alignment, and other key elements to developing your confidence. We move at a comfortable, calm pace to allow you to have the time needed to fully understand each posture.

Buti Yoga

Vinyasa yoga, Tai Chi, Pilates, and Buti yoga unite in this 60-minute class. Join us for an adventure of the heart and soul as we flow, balance energy, build core strength, and groove to an invigorating soundtrack. Students will release stress and tension, boost energy levels, and reconnect with their playful, empowering side. All levels and abilities welcome.

Serenity Yoga

Serenity Yoga is a slow-flow, floor-based, whole-body sensory experience based on fluid sequencing. In this all levels class, Kim Ket will guide you through a mindful practice engaging all five senses. Starting with Pranayama (breathing technique), this class works to progressively open the body, cultivate mental focus, and gently build internal heat.  Poses are held longer than in Vinyasa yoga classes to promote full-body flexibility.  During Serenity Yoga, you may discover hands-on assists and massages, a calming candlelit room atmosphere with 85 degrees, delightful scents and beautiful music in the background.  All proceeds in support of The Volta Children’s GHANA Foundation.

GENTLE YOGA FOR A STRONGER BACK

Join us for a Slow Vinyasa Flow especially created to relieve and prevent low back pain, sciatica, or pinched nerves along the spine. We will focus on postures that strengthen the core and stretch the muscles that support the spine to reduce unwanted strain in the back. Postural modifications will be offered throughout the class to allow students of all experience levels to benefit. Class will end with an extended Savasana meditation for total relaxation.

HOT HATHA AND GUIDED MEDITATION

Set between temperatures of 90 and 95 degrees, this class focuses on the fundamentals of yoga using the poses you may have seen in Vinyasa style classes. We break down each posture so that you can leave class feeling longer, stronger, and more relaxed. We will end class with a 15-minute self-love guided meditation.

HATHA YOGA WITH REIKI

Hatha Yoga with Reiki is the union of two ancient traditions to offer physical, mental, and spiritual wellness. It is a soothing practice that combines carefully selected gentle flow postures with a Reiki treatment offered using the imposition of the hands to support and boost the natural healing and cleansing processes in the body with the added benefit of essential oils. This unique and exclusive combination encourages the flow of life energy (Prana or Ki) in the body removing blockages and unbalances in the body, re-establishing inner peace and well-being.

HOT VINYASA FLOW

Set between 90 and 95 degrees, this class incorporates Vinyasa Flow with longer held poses that challenge balance, build strength, and encourage flexibility.  We offer modifications and postural variations throughout class so that you can choose posture options that best support your physical, mental, and emotional needs.

HOT POWER HOUR – CANDLELIGHT YOGA

Set in a candlelit setting for an extra balance challenge your balance and heated between 101 and 105 degrees with 40% added humidity, you’re sure to burn stress and calories in this 60-minute Slow Power Flow. We focus on postures that build strength and endurance throughout the entire body and evoke mental clarity and focus.  Appropriate for all skill levels, including new yogis!  We offer modifications throughout class so that you can leave feeling stronger, longer, and leaner no matter where you are in your yoga journey.

YOGA OPEN STUDIO

Whether you’re looking to build the fundamentals of your practice or take your practice up a notch, this class is for you!  Lead by two instructors, you will receive the attention you need to make the next step in your yoga journey. Each week, we will focus on items that you want to work on, including proper alignment, strength building, and how to safely get in and out inversions, as well as any other yoga questions you may have during class.  Appropriate for all skill levels, including students new to yoga, as well as master yogis, and everyone in between, this class is sure to bring your practice to the next level.

Power Flow

Challenge your yoga practice as we link breath to movement through challenging series of Vinyasa/Power yoga. Set to temperatures between 93 and 95 degrees with 40% added humidity, this class strengthens skills for the regular yogi. Sculpt

Heated between 90 and 95 degrees, this class incorporates Power/Vinyasa yoga, cardio circuits, and strength training using bodyweight resistance and free weights. Set to upbeat music this class will elevate heart rate, increase metabolism, and boost energy levels.

Restorative Yoga

Restorative Yoga is a practice that is all about winding down and opening your body and mind through passive stretching. If you take a restorative class, you spend more time in fewer poses in the course of an hour. Emphasis is given to aligning the breath and movement and alignment of the body.  We offer 75 and 60-minute classes.

VINYASA FLOW

This class incorporates Vinyasa Flow with poses that stretch, encourage strength building and challenge balance. We offer modifications and postural variations throughout class so that you can choose posture options that best support your physical, mental, and emotional needs.

WHOLEHEARTED YOGA

Relieve yourself of stiff muscles, achy joints, fatigue, and stress as you gain feelings of connection and a deeper understanding of your yoga practice.  Perfect for those looking to learn how to practice without pain, embrace what can and cannot be done without judgment, and live in peaceful residence in the body.  
By wholeheartedly allowing ourselves to simply be, we learn from the inside out. By getting out of our heads and into our hearts, the insights we have on the mat begin to stick, at a deep, cellular level. These insights, in turn, begin to inform our lives off the mat.  So while you may come to class because of a sore back, you will probably leave not only feeling physically better, but also feeling empowered and renewed with compassion for yourself and life.

YIN YOGA

Allow your body and mind to unwind as you lengthen your muscles, free your fascia, and release stress held in the joints and connective tissues of the body. We will focus on postures that help to rectify muscular imbalances in common areas of pain such as the low back, hips, upper back, and shoulders so that you can combat muscle soreness, fatigue, and achiness. We end class with an extended Savasana to promote mental clarity and well-being that you can carry with you off your mat.

YOGA FOR ARTHRITIS

This gentle yoga class helps move your body and, specifically your joints, through their full range of motion increasing flexibility and muscle strength while reducing joint pain, stress and tension in the body and mind. Using props such as blocks, chairs, cushions and blankets, you will learn exercises that you can take anywhere. Before you start, be sure to speak to your rheumatologist and/or primary care physician. Required for class: Yoga Mat and Water Bottle.

YOGA AND MEDITATION FOR A BETTER NIGHT’S SLEEP

Ward off sleepless nights, and achieve the many wonderful benefits of a good night’s rest including improved concentration, creativity, and mood, as well as reduced inflammation, and much more. We use a combination of yin yoga and guided meditation over 75 minutes to help you release tension and unwind so you can fall asleep faster and improve your quality of sleep.

26 and 2

Using the same 26 postures and two breathing exercises that you may have used in other hot yoga classes, we focus on unique poses that promote healing and wellness of the whole body in 60-minutes. The use of Slow Flow yoga and heat allows students to discover deep mind-body connections and have breakthroughs in the studio, that add balance and flexibility in all other aspects of life. This is a musicless class meant to be used as an open-eyed meditation. Appropriate for all skill and experience levels.

CHILDLIGHT YOGA

ChildLight Yoga classes engage children through movement exploration, music, theme-related games and inspired yoga-play to capture their attention and their imaginations as they refine their physical, social and emotional skills.  Classes end wth visual imagery and relaxation exercises, teaching children to calm both body and mind.  Ages 4 – 9 years
